Alfredo’s

An Italian restaurant on South Main Street, New City

A dinner house that does one service a day. Nothing before four in the afternoon, six days a week — and that single fact is the thing most people arrive not knowing.

“Hours? Do they serve lunch…”

— a stranger, asking the internet, because nobody had written it down

Somebody wanted to eat here badly enough to post a public question about the opening hours. The answer is no — the kitchen doesn’t open until four o’clock — and it takes one line on one page to save the next person from having to ask.

That is the entire argument for a website, in miniature. Not marketing, not photographs, not a brand: one sentence, somewhere findable, answering the question people are demonstrably already asking.

One service a day, six days a week

Alfredo’s is an Italian restaurant at 189 South Main Street in New City, in Rockland County. There is no lunch and there is no breakfast. The doors open at four in the afternoon and the kitchen runs into the evening, Tuesday through Sunday.

You can book a table, you can collect an order at the door, and the restaurant delivers. All three are listed publicly; the phone is the only way to arrange any of them that this page could verify.

Because no menu is published anywhere, this page does not print one. What Alfredo’s cooks tonight is a question for the phone: (845) 634-3300.

A photograph of the dining room belongs here. Alfredo’s has photographs on its public listing; none of them are ours to publish.

Four o’clock, six days. Closed Mondays.

4:00 pmEvery day the doors open

Tuesday through Thursday the kitchen runs to nine; Friday and Saturday to half past; Sunday finishes at eight. Monday it is closed.

Where these hours came from

Public listings, in July 2026 — not from the restaurant. Nobody at Alfredo’s has confirmed them, and no page anywhere says whether four o’clock holds in every week of the year. Call (845) 634-3300 if you are coming a long way.

Unusually, the thing people write about is the service.

Most restaurants get reviewed for their food. Here the phrase that comes up most — in seventeen separate reviews — is about being looked after. That is worth knowing about a place, and it is worth saying out loud.

Being attended to right away

The single most repeated thing anybody writes about Alfredo’s, by a wide margin.

17

separate people wrote about it, unprompted

“Authentic Italian”

Written by somebody who had moved to Rockland the year before and had been struggling to find one.

The dipping oil

Customers mention that the oil for the bread has a twist to it. A small thing, noticed twice, which usually means it is deliberate.

Nothing here is a star rating. These are the subjects people chose to write about in public, counted — not scores, and not quotations from any one review site.

The bread comes with an oil that has a twist to it

It is the only thing about the food that enough people mentioned for this page to say it. Two separate customers wrote about the dipping oil and neither said what was in it.

Whatever the twist is, it is Alfredo’s to describe, and it is not written down anywhere yet.

Bread and the dipping saucer, drawn. No photograph of it exists that this page is allowed to use.

Three ways in, one number

Reservations, take-out and delivery are all listed for Alfredo’s. No booking link and no ordering link is published anywhere, so every one of them starts on the telephone.

  • A table

Reservations are taken. Nothing published says how far ahead to book, or whether large parties are handled differently.

  • Take-out

Collected at the restaurant. No pickup time and no minimum is published.

  • Delivery

Delivery is listed. Which streets it reaches, what it costs and who carries it are not stated on any page found.

What this page could not confirm

Every fact above was read off public listings and off what customers wrote in public. Nobody at Alfredo’s has seen this page. These are the things it could not settle.

  • The menu. None is published anywhere. This is the largest single thing missing from this page, and the first thing to ask the restaurant for.
  • Prices. Not one is published, so not one appears here.
  • The hours, and the lunch question. The four o’clock opening and the Monday closure both come from listings. Whether there is genuinely never any lunch service needs saying by the restaurant itself.
  • Whether four o’clock is the year round. No listing says whether the opening time changes with the season or the holidays.
  • That the early evening is the quiet part. The sentence written for this page read: “A four o’clock opening also means the early part of the evening is the quiet part — which is worth saying to anyone who would rather not wait.” Nobody at Alfredo’s said that. It is an assumption, and it is parked here until somebody there confirms or kills it.
  • Photographs. Alfredo’s has photographs on its public listing and none of them are ours to publish, so this page uses drawings in their place.
